Veterans Dinner

Veteran’s Dinner

The Sutton Legion Branch 356 is hosting its annual veteran’s dinner on October 22^nd. Legion membership is not a requirement and ALL current or past members of the Canadian Armed Forces or Allied Forces are welcome to attend.

The meet and greet will be at the Sutton Legion at 21 East Street between 2PM to 4PM and dinner will be served at 4PM. Tickets cost $15 and will be available at the bar. Dinner will be free for veterans and a spouse or caregiver.

A “Cheers to 80 Years”

A “Cheers to 80 Years” celebrating long time member Pat Shearer on his date of birth of Saturday, September 2, 2023, will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 356, 21 East Street, Sutton from 2-4 p.m. with remembrances at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial donations to the RCL Branch 356 Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family. Memorial condolences may be made at www.forrestandtaylor.com

Passing of Comrade Art Arsenault – Veteran and Branch Life Member

It is with deep regret and sadness, that we must inform you that Comrade Art Arsenault passed away today 25^th August 2023.

Art was a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Artillery. A long-time member of the Branch and a life a Life Member. He had held numerous executive positions including Sgt at Arms and Veterans Affairs. He was also widely known within our community. Especially at Sobey’s and Tim Hortons!

There will be a Final Salute to Art:

Time: 10:30

Where: Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Rd, Sutton.

Dress: Full Legion Uniform, with white gloves and headdress. If no uniform suitable civilian attire.

Details of Legion Memorial or Celebration of Life will be passed on when known.
