National Peacekeepers‘ Day Parade was held in August.
You never know who you will see when you stopped by for a Friday dinner at the Sutton Legion Branch 356.
We had 99 year old Jim Parks, a member of the Winnipeg Rifles, who was among the first wave of Canadian soldiers to land at Juno Beach on June 6, 1944, two minutes before the main assault wave hit stop by for dinner.
It was such an honor to have Jim come visit our Legion. Jim now lives in Mount Albert.
Please check out Little Black Devils – From Juno to Putot a movie that is being made about Jim and the other soldiers at Juno Beach.
The Sutton Legion has just installed our first handicap washroom thanks to the Ontario Trillium Grant.
This is a great thing for our building and our community.
A big thank you to the OTF for this wonderful new addition.
